Celebrating 80 years of flights to Senegal Back in 1936, the airline launched its regular commercial weekly flight to Dakar via Toulouse, with a three-engine Dewoitine 338 flying at 275 kph. In 1938, Air France inaugurated its first nonstop Paris/Dakar flight on a Dewoitine in 21 hours. Today, the airline flies to Dakar daily with a three-class B777-300 in 5 hours 40 minutes, carrying 381 passengers. AIR FRANCE KLM has a strong presence in Africa, flying to 48 destinations in the continent this winter.
