the local economy
Acting for Life, with assistance from Air France, supports small-scale dairy farmers in the Cuzco region.
In this Andean area of Peru, Acting for Life works with local partner CCAIJO to help more than 200 dairy farmers, most of whom are women, by providing training programswith the goal of improving the quality of their products and creating value at a local level. Thanks to the donation of innovative equipment, the farmers can produce higher-quality cheeses that are better suited to the market, an important source of revenue. By improving management skills, they can determine their production costs more precisely, estimate monthly income and develop a long-term vision for their activities. This ethical support was expanded in August to other sectors involved in local food production.
